Our Story

Notts Lost Dogs – SAR was born in August 2023. I started volunteering 4 years ago, with another group, after briefly losing my own dog and feeling frantic and panicking at the thought of not finding him.

In August 2023 I decided the time was right to set up my own group to help reunite more missing dogs across the Nottinghamshire area. I was soon joined by a couple of friends who I had previously met through volunteering and, with the help and support of other SAR organisations we have steadily grown. We continue to work alongside them as well as other organisations to help reunite lost and beloved pets.

When an owner is panicking we are a calm voice with logical thinking, we offer advice, get a poster on social media quickly and depending on the circumstances of how and where a dog has gone missing we can arrange ground searchers/tracker dogs and drone support. We have recently added trapping to our skill set and if needed can set a trap with cameras for the more difficult to catch dog. We will throw everything we can at helping you get your dog back – we don’t give up until it’s found.
